Brussels to provide 3% of the funds for "Nabucco"
The European Commission plans on investing 250 million Euro in the project for the transnational gas pipe Nabucco, "Financial times" reported, cited by money.bg.
The proposed financing by the EU is a part of the motivation package worth 5 billion Euro, in which Bulgaria is interested as well. The billions represent funds on different infrastructure programmes. The proposal for the investment of 250 million Euro is yet to be approved by the member states and the European Parliament. The promised sum represents only 3% of the expected expenditures on the construction of the gas pipe, which is supposed to bring Caspian gas to the European consumers, but will provide capital base for the further attraction of funds.
